An Early Holiday Gift

Angel Aramboles and Jennifer Marino, of Boynton Beach, Florida, were excited for the holidays as that meant the baby they were adopting from Upstate New York would soon be here. Little did they know their world would soon turn upside down when that baby decided to make an entrance six weeks early.

Their new baby boy, Justin, was born at 3 pounds, 1 ounce and was soon placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Crouse Hospital. While Justin grew stronger in the NICU, Angel and Jennifer stayed close by at the CNY Ronald McDonald House.

“Being from Florida and unfamiliar with Syracuse, the House provided us with a safe place to stay close to our son and gave us peace of mind,” said Jennifer. “The resources provided allowed us to focus solely on Justin, and the shuttle to and from the hospital was a blessing”

Justin was discharged after 11 nights, and together, Angel, Jennifer and Justin traveled back home to Florida.

“We can’t say enough about the House. It took away the burden of finding a place to stay when Justin was in the hospital, and the kindness we encountered there was unlike anything we have ever experienced. As first-time parents, we were scared and sleep-deprived, but the staff was so wonderful and helpful. We are forever grateful.”
