Volunteer
Volunteers are the heart of our home.

Donating your time helps give guest families more time to spend with their children. Volunteers assist us in many areas on an ongoing basis and make a difference in the lives of our guest families. On average, volunteers save us approximately $73,300 per year.
Available Opportunities:
House Volunteers
Volunteers at the House help welcome families and visitors when they enter the House, as well as help keep the House neat and tidy. In addition to answering and directing phone calls, accepting donations, and conducting guest family check-ins and check-outs, volunteers at the House also help to keep the kitchens clean in addition to prepping or heating up meals for guests when necessary. Volunteer roles may vary from day to day and different tasks may be asked of you from time to time based on what is needed.
Special Event Volunteers
Every year we host two annual fundraising events – the RMHC of CNY Golf Invitational and the Many Hearts One Home Celebration – and we’re always looking for some extra helping hands. For those who have a desire to help, but on a limited basis, this is the volunteer role for you.
We are also recruiting new members for our volunteer event committees. The committee members help increase event revenue through new ticket sales and foursomes, recruiting new major sponsors, and selling ad space in our MHOH event program. If they are not comfortable making the ask themselves, opening the door for the Development Staff to have that conversation is just as helpful. Committee members are asked to help solicit items for our MHOH auction and either attend or volunteer at the events. The committees meet monthly, still virtually for now. Additional meetings may occur if needed, as we get closer to the events.

Youth Advisory Board
Made up of high school students from Central New York, the Youth Advisory Board creates projects that educate young people about the value of philanthropy and volunteerism in the community. As a group, the board plans and conducts fundraising events, community events and volunteer activities that raise awareness and funds for the organization. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact Zoe White at zwhite@rmhcny.org.
